Fire Safety Managers

Course overview
This course will introduce the key principles and control at a management level and make delegates aware of and understand the vast range of topics involved in fire safety.

Aims
Have an understanding of the role and responsibilities of the fire safety manager. To ensure effective management of the day to day fire safety in buildings and compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. Understand the need for a company policy and emergency plan. Have knowledge of current legislation and the guidance documents available.

Learning Objectives
On completion of the course the delegates should...

  1. Understand the role and responsibilities of the fire safety manager
  2. Be able to set specific targets to develop and improve company fire safety standards
  3. Be able to assess the necessary equipment required to conform with the fire laws
  4. Know the training requirements of the company.
  5. Be able to work within the allocated fire safety budget.
  6. Know how to design and implement a company policy and emergency plan.

Prerequisites
Persons attending this course should have a health and safety background and a basic knowledge of fire safety, as well as experience as a fire warden.

An understanding of budget control and administration is an advantage.
